Abdul Karim Tunda

Syed Abdul Karim alias Tunda (* 1943 in India) is a suspected Islamic terrorist and bomb expert. He is accused of organizing the 2006 bombings in Mumbai and at least 40 other attacks, and of playing a leading role in Laschkar e-Taiba .

His original profession was a carpenter. He radicalized himself in the 1980s. The alias name Tunda comes from the loss of his left hand in an explosive device ("the disabled"). An alleged arrest in Mombasa , Kenya, in July 2006 turned out to be confusion. Tunda was arrested on August 17, 2013 on the border with Nepal . He was carrying a passport from Pakistan with the number AC 4413161, issued January 23, 2013 in the name of Abdul Quddus with the status of Police Commissioner.
