Abel Ferreira (* 22. December 1978 in Penafiel ), also briefly Abel , is a former Portuguese footballer who most recently with Sporting Lisbon played. His previous clubs were: FC Penafiel , Vitória Guimarães and Sporting Braga . At Sporting Braga, he played 43 league and four UEFA Cup games. From 2006 to 2011 he was under contract with Sporting.
