history

The Salzburg Evening High School was founded in autumn 1957. It is the oldest of the eight Austrian evening grammar schools with public rights ( AHS for working people , special type of grammar school according to Section 37, Paragraph 3 of the School Organization Act)

Lessons offered

Classes take place in the evening and are free of charge. A comprehensive general education, handling new media , learning foreign languages and mastering key qualifications are the focus of the training. The modular course system can be individually tailored to the needs of the students, which can shorten the duration of the course if necessary. It is also possible to take the Matura in parts, because the curriculum is divided into modules that can be completed one after the other by means of semester or overall final exams.

The teaching concept includes, depending on the individual choice, either the classic form of the evening grammar school with on-site lessons Monday to Friday or distance learning , in which joint lessons (face-to-face evenings) take place two evenings a week. The core lesson times are usually from 6.45pm to 9.55pm; in some cases classes start a little earlier. The school also offers scholarships and grants.
