Adventure Diagnosis has been a TV show since 2008 in the NDR's program . In the broadcasts, cases of illness are presented in which the gain in medical knowledge is placed in the foreground and presented in an exciting way, similar to the investigation of a criminal case. A similar format is the American television program Mystery Diagnosis , which was first broadcast in 2005 on the Discovery Health Channel , an offshoot of Discovery Channels .
10 to 15-minute individual episodes of the show were mostly broadcast at the end of the NDR health magazine Visite .
Several episodes are summarized in a 45-minute program, which is mostly broadcast on Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. Some programs are available via the NDR archive, the oldest from July 15, 2008, about a case of cross allergy .
The NDR is continuously looking for those affected who are ready to report on their medical history in the given broadcast format.
The medical cases are re-enacted by actors on a ward in a real hospital. In 2016, for example, the film was shot in the Bergedorf Bethesda Hospital in Hamburg.
In 2018, for the 10th anniversary of the TV program, a book with medical cases was published.
