description
The Sommerberg is a slightly prominent, wooded mountain, the summit of which does not offer a view. On its forest-free western slope there is a vantage point that offers a clear view of Lückendorf with the panorama of the mountain ridge from the Hochwald over the Brandhöhe and the Scharfenstein to the Zigeunerberg. The meadow on the western slope with occurrences of quaking grass, thyme, small pimpinelle and heather cloves is protected as a mountain hay meadow.
The Forsthaushöhle is located at the northern foot in Taubengrund near Gabler Straße. The Scheibenborn spring is located southeast of the summer mountain not far from the Czech border .
Winter sports
The 2.7 km long summer mountain trail leads around the Sommerberg. On the western slope there is a slope with a height difference of 60 m; the 400 m long drag lift was taken out of service in 2006.
