Adventures in Rainbow Country (Original title: Adventures in Rainbow Country ) is a Canadian television series , which in 1969 largely at the Whitefish Falls near Espanola was filmed. Other scenes were made on Birch Island and Manitoulin .

The widowed Nancy Williams raises her two children, Billy and Hannah, in the vastness of northern Ontario ; "On the rapids of the Georgen Bay of Lake Huron". They experience a number of adventures with Indians, trappers and wild animals, which they also have with the help of Billy's friend, Ojibway Pete Gawa and the bush pilot Dennis McGubgub.
To the series
The series was very popular and was never officially discontinued; however, no more episodes were produced after the first season. Prominent guest stars have appeared in roles such as Gordon Pinsent , Margot Kidder, and Eric Christmas . The districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin are advertised and visited as Rainbow Country to this day .
In 1971 books on this were published by the Munich publishing house Breitschopf ("The Indians from the White Fish River"; "The Secret of the Blue Mountains") and a quartet by Piatnek (Vienna; No. 329).
