Günter Klein (theologian)
Günter Klein (born January 12, 1928 in Barmen (now in Wuppertal ); † December 27, 2015 ) was a German Protestant theologian and professor.
Life
Günter Klein studied Protestant theology at the universities of Wuppertal , Marburg and Tübingen . In 1952 he passed the first and in 1956 the second theological exam . In 1959 he was awarded a doctorate degree in Bonn with a thesis on the image of the apostle of Luke. theol. PhD. In 1961 he completed his habilitation, also at the University of Bonn , for the subject of the New Testament with a thesis on the unity of the church in Paul.
In 1964, Günter Klein became full professor for the New Testament at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, and from there he accepted a chair for the New Testament in 1967 at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster , where he was also director of the New Testament Seminar was.
The theologian taught and researched in Münster until his retirement in 1993.
