The Aberfeldy Water Mill , formerly McKerchar & McNaughton's Meal Mill , is a water mill in the Scottish town of Aberfeldy in the Council Area Perth and Kinross . In 1971 the structure was included in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A.

history

A mill already existed on the site in the 1740s. The Earl of Breadalbane acquired the business in 1771. Today's Aberfeldy Water Mill was built in 1826. It was in operation until it closed in 1983. Tom Rodger , whose family has been producing oatmeal for seven generations , bought the business. He restored the old mill and has been producing oatmeal there since 1987. The Aberfeldy Water Mill is one of Aberfeldy's tourist attractions.
