Aberporth is a town in Ceredigion on Cardigan Bay on the Welsh coast.
The place lives mainly from tourism and is a popular beach and bathing resort, especially for families with children, as the beach of the bathing resort is guarded during the season. Aberporth can be reached via the M4 , exit Carmarthen and then via the A484 towards Newcastle Emlyn.
A test site for rockets used by the British military has been located near Aberporth since the Second World War , from which civil sounding rockets for atmospheric research have also been launched.
