Mary Abigail Padgett (born May 13, 1942 in Vincennes , Indiana ) is an American author.

Life

Padgett graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 1964 with a degree in Education and received her Masters from the University of Missouri in 1969. Between her studies, she taught English at a high school, including at times for the American Civil Liberties Union in Texas. She later worked as a court investigator for child protection in San Diego until, from 1988, she focused entirely on her work as a writer.

Padgett's five volume series of Barbara “Bo” Bradley, a San Diego Juvenile Court investigator who successfully advocates for abused and abandoned children while living with bipolar disorder herself , has been a huge hit in the United States and many other countries . Her second book series revolves around Blue McCarron, a lesbian social psychologist who is involved in various murder cases. It has also been translated into many languages ​​from the American original. The two volumes about Blue Mc Carron were last published by Prospero Verlag , Münster and Berlin.
