Reading

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Under reading refers to the detection of a measured value by consciously look to a numerical display or scale .

With a numeric display , the reading as such is possible without errors, the quantization deviation is a problem of the measuring device , not of the reading. In contrast, additional aids such as vernier , magnifying glass , measuring microscope , mirror scale can be used for the scale display in order to keep the inevitable deviation in the reading as small as possible. It should always be considered to what extent an increased effort to reduce this deviation due to the always added measuring device deviation , feedback deviation , etc. makes sense.

With the increasing use of electrical measuring effects , reading is increasingly being replaced by electronic recording ( analog-digital conversion ) and electronic processing.
