Above-the-line costs

Above-the-line costs is a technical term from the film management and describes the costs of the fees of the creatively active people in a film production such as screenwriters , directors , film composers etc. In the fee key, the costs must be offset separately from those of the total production costs. The latter are broken down into the so-called below-the-line costs .
