Abrão dos Santos is a diplomat, civil servant and education expert from East Timor .

Career

Santos worked for many years in the East Timorese Ministry of Education. In 2007 he was promoted from Senior Expert to National Director for Technical and Higher Education. In 2011 he was appointed National Director for Higher Education. He was later promoted to Director General for Higher Education. Santos then received the post of Education Attaché at the East Timorese Embassy in Brazil before returning to the Ministry of Education as Director General.

Santos was proposed by the government as the new East Timorese ambassador to the People's Republic of China in mid-2019 , but the official appointment did not take place until January 2020.
