Abraham Alter Fiszzon
Abraham Alter Fiszzon (actually Abraham Fischson , born 1843 or 1848 in Berditschew , Russian Empire , died 1922 in Harbin , Republic of China ) was a Jewish actor and theater director in Russia and Poland .
Life
Abraham Fischson was born in Berdychiv in what is now Ukraine in 1843 or 1848 . Since 1874 he moved through the Russian Empire and Galicia with his own Yiddish theater . After Yiddish theater was banned in Russia in 1883, the ensemble played partly in German.
In 1905 he came to Warsaw , where he worked with Abraham Kamiński's Yiddish theater . In 1917 he went first to Siberia , then to China. He died there in 1922.
Abraham Fiszzon was married to the actress Chine Bragińska. His adopted son Misza Fiszzon and his wife Wiera Zasławska also played in his theater.
