Abrash

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Abrasch is a name from the carpet industry and describes color differences in carpet weaving .

If the wool is running out and the next knot has to be tied from a new ball or roll , then its color may vary slightly. This problem arose above all in earlier times when wool dyed exclusively with natural substances was used, the color intensity of which also depended on the type and duration of storage.

However, a beautiful abrash is often a quality feature in nomadic textile production. It is a testament to originality and at the same time offers a welcoming, decorative shadow play of colors.

In the case of mechanically produced carpets, the abrash can also be artificially incorporated to deceive the buyer in order to give them a "real" look.

The Abrasch Office was a small Viennese publisher that existed from 2002 to 2010 and primarily published poetry and prose from Eastern European and Romance languages in German.
