Graduate Badge (Soviet Union)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Graduate badges were first donated during the Russian Civil War . In the Soviet Union , graduate badges were officially awarded for successful completion of training or studies at a military educational institution, from the "Suvorov military schools" to the "Academy of the General Staff" for soldiers or civilian graduates.

Graduates 'badges were also awarded to officers of the armed organs of other countries (mostly from the Warsaw Pact states ) who had successfully graduated from an officers' college, military academy or the USSR General Staff Academy . The lapel of this badge was provided with a threaded mandrel and a knurled fastening nut, with which it could be screwed to the uniform.
