The Abbey Kurisumala Ashram , founded in 1958 as a Christian Ashram , is since 1998 one Indian monastery of Trappist monks in Vagamon , Kottayam , Kerala , archeparchy Tiruvalla .

history

The prehistory is closely connected to the biography of its founder, the Belgian Trappist Francis Acharya , who left his order in 1955 to fulfill the desire to live since 1931, the establishment of a Christian ashram ("meditation center") in India.
