The archeparchy Tiruvalla ( lat. : Archieparchia Tiruvallensis ) is in India located archeparchy the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church based in Tiruvalla ( district Pathanamthitta , State of Kerala ).

history

Pope Pius XI founded the Eparchy Tiruvalla with the Apostolic Constitution Christo pastorum Principi on June 11, 1932. On October 28, 1978 it lost part of its territory to the Eparchy Battery .

The eparchy was elevated to an archparchy on May 15, 2006. It lost further parts on January 15, 2003 to the Muvattupuzha Eparchy .

The archbishopric only includes the Syro-Malankar Catholics of the area. The Catholics of the Latin rite and the Syro-Malabar rite who also live there belong to other dioceses.
