The eparchy Battery ( Latin Eparchia Batteriensis ) is in India located eparchy of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church , located in Sulthan Bathery , Wayanad , Kerala .

history

The Battery Eparchy was established on October 28, 1978 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Constat Paulum VI from the cession of the Tiruvalla Eparchy and subordinated to the Trivandrum Archparchy as a suffragan diocese. On May 15, 2006, the Battery Eparchy was subordinated to the Tiruvalla Archeparchy as a suffragan diocese. The Battery Eparchy gave up parts of its territory on January 25, 2010 to establish the Puthur Eparchy .

The Battery Eparchy only records the Syro-Malankar Catholics of the area. The Catholics of the Latin rite and the Syro-Malabar rite who also live there belong to other dioceses.
