Geevarghese Divannasios Ottathengil
Geevarghese Divannasios Ottathengil (born November 1, 1950 in Kunnanthanam ; † January 16, 2018 in Tiruvalla ) was an Indian clergyman and Syro-Malankar bishop of Puthur .
Life
Geevarghese Divannasios Ottathengil was ordained a priest on April 20, 1978 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Battery on November 11, 1996 . The Archbishop of Trivandrum , Cyril Baselios Malancharuvil OIC , donated him episcopal ordination on February 5 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Lawrence Ephraem Thottam , Bishop of Marthandom , and Geevarghese Timotheos Chundevalel , Bishop of Tiruvalla .
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on January 25, 2010 as the first bishop of the Puthur Eparchy, which was established on the same date .
On January 24, 2017, Pope Francis accepted his early resignation.
