The Archdiocese of Imphal ( Latin Archidioecesis Imphalensis ) is an archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church in India with its seat in Imphal .

The Archdiocese of Imphal includes the state of Manipur .

history

The Diocese of Imphal was founded on March 28, 1980 by Pope John Paul II through the division of the Diocese of Kohima-Imphal , decreed in the Apostolic Constitution Cum Nos , and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Shillong as a suffragan . On July 10, 1995, the Diocese of Imphal was raised to the Archbishopric with the Apostolic Constitution Cum Ecclesia catholica .
