Joseph Mittathany
Joseph Mittathany (born July 12, 1931 in Kalikavu ) is Old Archbishop of Imphal .
Life
Joseph Mittathany was ordained a priest on April 23, 1959 . Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Tezpur on June 26, 1969 .
The retired bishop of Shillong , Stephen Ferrando SDB , ordained him on 27 September of the same year Bishop ; Co- consecrators were Hubert D'Rosario SDB, Archbishop of Gauhati - Shillong , and Orestes Marengo SDB, Apostolic Administrator of Tura .
John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Imphal on March 28, 1980 . The Pope elevated the diocese to an archbishopric on July 10, 1995, making him the first archbishop of Imphal. On July 12, 2006, Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
