The Archdiocese of Gandhinagar ( Latin Archidioecesis Gandhinagarensis ) is an archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church in India with its seat in Gandhinagar .

The Archdiocese of Gandhinagar includes the districts of Banaskantha , Gandhinagar , Mahesana , Patan and Sabarkantha in the state of Gujarat .

history

The Archdiocese of Gandhinagar was established on November 11, 2002 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Dilecta in Indiae from cession of territory of the Diocese of Ahmedabad and transferred to it as a metropolitan diocese .
