The Eparchy of Saint John Chrysostomus Gurgaon ( Latin : Eparchia Gurgaonensis ) is an eparchy of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church based in Gurgaon , which covers the entire north of India.

history

Pope Francis established the eparchy on March 26, 2015 and appointed the previous Apostolic Visitator for the Syro-Malankan Christians outside the home country, Jacob Barnabas Chacko Aerath OIC , as their first bishop.

The diocese includes the Syro-Malankar Catholics in 22 of 29 Indian states. The southern border of the territory is formed by the states of Gujarat , Madhya Pradesh , Chhattisgarh and Orissa . The jurisdiction also refers to the Syro-Malankar believers who live scattered in the states of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and West Bengal.
