Sainte-Colombe Abbey
The abbey of Sainte-Colombe in Sens was founded in 620 by the Merovingian king Chlothar II over the grave of St. Kolumba von Sens , who lived in Sens in the 3rd century and whose veneration has been attested since the 6th century. The abbey church was destroyed in 1792 and the relics were scattered. The Chapelle de l'Immaculée Conception (Chapel of the Immaculate Conception) was built on the same site in the 19th century .
