Abu Husain at-Tunusi

Abu Husain at-Tunusi ( Arabic أبو حسين التونسي, born in Kairouan , Tunisia ; died December 29, 2016 in al-Bab , Syria ) was a Tunisian IS terrorist.

The Kunya Abu Husain at-Tunusi means "father of Husain, the Tunisian". His real name is unknown. At-Tunusi acted as the PR person for the organization. In 2015 he was also appointed military chief of operations ( emir ). On December 29, he was killed in an air strike by the Turkish Air Force as part of Operation Euphrates Shield when his convoy was hit by an F-16 missile . An unknown number of his bodyguards were also killed in the attack. According to Turkish media reports, at-Tunusi was called from ar-Raqqa to al-Bab to lead the defense of the city for the terrorist militia.
