Badge for seafaring personnel
The badge for seafaring personnel is a special badge of the Bundeswehr .
execution
The badge is designed as an unclear anchor with a wreath of oak leaves in three stylized waves and is embossed or embroidered with metal. The badge is bronze, silver or gold in color.
Carrying method
The badge is worn on the right side of the chest over the breast pocket, in the same place for service jackets without patch pockets.
requirements
The prerequisite for the delivery is service on board ships and boats of the Navy of the German Armed Forces, NATO units or other friendly navies.
- Level I in bronze for more than one year on board service
- Level II in silver for more than two years on board service
- Level III gold for more than five years of on-board service
On-board duty time is the duty time that is proven on the basis of individual evidence such as commands , embarkation orders or comparable documents.
Handing over and authorization to wear
Soldiers who have met the conditions and have submitted the relevant application must be handed over the badge with a certificate of ownership by the squadron commander or the disciplinary superior. Soldiers, including those who have retired from military service , are authorized to wear them after they have received their certificate of possession. The responsible squadron commander issues the carrying permit with the issue of the possession certificate at the request of the disciplinary superior.
The wearing permit can be withdrawn if the soldier grossly violates his military duties . In this case, the certificate of ownership must be declared invalid, the badge and certificate of ownership must be withdrawn and sent to the approving body. The badge can be re-awarded to the soldier upon renewed probation at the request of the disciplinary superior.
Acquisition by foreign soldiers
Soldiers of foreign armed forces can acquire the badge for seafaring personnel under the same conditions.
