Associação Académica da Praia (short Académica da Praia ) is a Cape Verdean football club from the capital Praia .
history
The association was founded on December 15, 1923 as a subsidiary of the Portuguese club Académica de Coimbra , in Praia, the capital of the then Portuguese colony Cape Verde. The national championship was celebrated in 1965 and 2018 and the cup victory in 2007.
Stadion
The Académica Praia football team plays its home games in the urban Estádio da Várzea . The stadium has an artificial turf pitch and can accommodate 8,000 spectators. City rivals Sporting Praia also play their games here. Until 2006, the club played its home games at Sucupira Field .
