The Académie du spectacle équestre is an equestrian institution in France , which was founded in 2002 by the French rider, director and choreographer “ Bartabas ” and which is housed in a part of the Grande Écurie , the stables of the Palace of Versailles . The group currently (March 2011) consisting of ten riders regularly performs events on classical equestrian art , primarily Lusitanos with the rare coat color " Cremello ", Criollos and Sorraias .

The demonstrations, following the classic principles of equestrian art, include not only equestrian performances, but also fencing (also on horseback), archery ( kyūdō ), singing on horseback and work on the hand and thus place the riding in a broader context of artistic and concentrative activities.
