Accentus Austria

Accentus Austria is a 1988 in Vienna , founded by Thomas Wimmer Ensemble for Early Music , which occurs in different compositions, as guest musicians are invited for various performances and recordings. Thomas Wimmer mainly plays viola da gamba , fidel and laúd . Michael Posch and Wolfgang Reithofer are core members of the ensemble who play recorders and drums as well as darbuka , tambourine and others. The main concern is the early music of Spain with special attention to its improvisational elements.

The repertoire ranges from popular music from the beginning to polyphonic sacred and secular works from the end of the 16th century. Accentus Austria recorded several CDs and performed throughout Europe , Israel and Morocco .
