Accrochage

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Accrochage (from the French “hanging up”, accrocher = to hang up) was the common expression for hanging pictures in museums in France from the 1960s at the latest . The term Accrochage was then picked up by art gallery owners and used to designate exhibitions from an art gallery's own holdings . Usually works by different artists are shown, whereby the works of art are sometimes also hung in the presence of the audience .
