The Accuracy International AS50 is a self-loading - sniper rifle manufacturer's Accuracy International caliber 12.7 x 99 mm NATO .
overview
The AS50 was developed by Accuracy International together with the US Naval Surface Warfare Center and was originally intended to be introduced to the SEALs . The semi-automatic gas pressure loader with muzzle brake is used by the British armed forces as an anti-materiel rifle and to combat enemy snipers at distances of over 1000 meters. Armor- piercing ammunition and full-jacket soft-core projectiles are mainly used .
The rifle weighs 14.1 kg with a 5-round magazine and mounted telescopic sight. For stabilization, there is a foldable bipod on the weapon and an additional support under the shoulder rest.
