Achim Killer (* 1957 in Pforzheim ) is a German journalist.

Career

Killer studied political science, philosophy and economics at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . Since then he has been working as a freelance journalist mainly for ARD . Between 1996 and 2000 he was head of the technology department at Computer Zeitung , Leinfelden-Echterdingen . He gained notoriety in the IT industry primarily through his glossy column for the internet publication silicon.de, which appeared between 2000 and 2015. Since 2000 he has been producing weekly online news for B5aktuell , the first regular ARD radio program with a focus on IT security. It is also published by BR24 under the heading “Killer's Security”. In 2017, Achim Killer was awarded the VDE Media Prize for the "generally understandable communication of computer technology and the Internet".
