Axle holder
An axle holder is a machine element for securing bolt connections against unintentional loosening of the bolt.
The axle holder consists of a rectangular sheet metal strip screwed with two fastening screws , which engages in a groove pierced all around the bolt . If the bolt is also to be secured against twisting, a tangential groove is milled into it .
Axle holders are usually used on bolt connections with a diameter of more than 18 mm. They are standardized in six stages up to a bolt diameter of 250 mm in DIN 15058 .
To bolt connections with a smaller diameter are usually retaining rings used.
