Acitavones

The Acitavones ( Latin Acitavones ) were a Celtic tribe in the Alps . More detailed mentions from the ancient authors, such as the exact residence or other information, are not yet known.

Only the victory monument Tropaeum Alpium in today's La Turbie (built 7/6 BC) mentions the Acitavonen in the list of 16/15 BC. In the Augustan Alpine campaigns defeated Alpine peoples.
