The Acorn skirt (from English acorn , acorn ' ) is a 20 m high cliff before the western end of South Georgia . In the group of the Willis Islands , the rock juts out of the South Atlantic 550 m northwest of Main Island .
The crew of the British research ship HMS Owen , who worked in the area between 1960 and 1961, gave it its descriptive name.
