Acta Archelai

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Acta Archelai from otherwise unknown church father Hegemonius are a front 350 incurred antimanichäischer novel, which was originally written in Greek, completely but only in Latin is preserved.

It contains the fictitious disputes between a large church bishop named Archelaos and the religious founder Mani , with Archelaos emerging as the victor. The work is a document of the defensive struggle of the old church against Manichaeism and was previously an important source for this itself.
