Actien-Bierbrauerei zu Reisewitz
The Actien-Bierbrauerei zu Reisewitz was a brewery in the Dresden district of Plauen (Dresden) .
history
On April 16, 1868, the Actien brewery was founded in Reisewitz . According to a document, a brewery is said to have existed in the same place as early as 1677.
The brewery started operations on January 25, 1869. Thanks to the good groundwater, high-quality beer, especially bottom-fermented and low-alcohol wheat malt beer, could be produced. From 1887 beer was bottled. In the business year 1898/99 79,573 hectoliters of beer were brewed.
As a result of the First World War , the brewery was forced to enter into an interest group with the Dresdner Felsenkellerbrauerei in 1921 . These and other rescue efforts failed and in 1930 the brewery was closed. Reisewitzer beer was now brewed using the contract brewing process in the Felsenkellerbrauerei and transferred via the Reisewitzer brewery's sales network. After the bombing of Dresden , the wage brewery ends.
