Acting sub-lieutenant

Acting Sub-Lieutenant is a rank of officer in the British Royal Navy . It was introduced in 1955 but has only been used in the Royal Naval Reserve volunteer reserve since 1993 . In contrast to the actual officer rank of sub-lieutenant , which is acquired through the acquisition of an officer patent, the rank of acting sub-lieutenant is conferred by appointment order.

In the Canadian Navy, the rank of Acting Sub-Lieutenant (A / Slt) is that of an officer NATO rank code OF-1 in the rank of lieutenant of the RCN .
