The Action Max is an 8-bit home video game console of the third generation of consoles , which was launched in 1987 by Worlds of Wonder . The games were released on VHS tapes . Since the console did not contain a player for the cassettes, a VHS player was also required to be able to play the games. A light gun was used as an input device , with which the players aimed at the screen and received points depending on how the targets were hit. However, it was not possible to influence the course of the games, so that the games offered little interaction. In addition, a total of only four titles were released for this console until production was discontinued.
