Actuant (formerly Applied Power ) is an American industrial group based in Menomonee Falls near Milwaukee . Actuant produces hydraulic tools marketed through the Enerpac , Simplex, Precision-Hayes and Milwaukee Cylinder brands, equipment for offshore oil production (Cortland, hydratight and Viking SeaTech brands) and commercial vehicle parts such as hydraulics, EGR systems, measuring instruments and PTO shafts ( Power-Packer , Gits, Weasler Engineering, maximatecc, Elliott Manufacturing and Sanlo).

Actuant was founded in 1910 as the American Grinder and Manufacturing Company . In 1961 the name was changed to Applied Power Industries and in 2001 to Actuant .
