Acyclic compounds

As acyclic compounds are chemical (usually organic ) compounds referred to in which the structure involved in the atoms chains form and are free of rings. The compounds can be straight or branched and contain heteroatoms .

Simple representatives of the organic homoatomic acyclic compounds are the n - alkanes and iso- alkanes.

If there are rings in the molecule, one speaks of cyclic compounds .
