The Adalbert-Clausius-Schanze , also known under the name Spessartschanze , was a ski jumping hill in Heigenbrücken in the Lower Franconian district of Aschaffenburg .

history

The hill was used for ski jumping between 1954 and 1968. The inauguration was on February 25, 1954; the last sporting event took place after 17 competitions in 1968. It is located in the Winterloch , a northern slope near Heigenbrücken in the Spessart. The take-off table was at a height of approx. 400 m above sea level.

With a K-point of 35 m, it was one of the smallest classes of ski jumping hills. Up to 5,000 spectators are said to have come to the opening ski jumping event in 1954. The Austrian Sepp Grill (Bad Mitterndorf / Salzburger Land) held the hill record with 38 m.

After the last jump, no maintenance measures were carried out. Although the collapsed construction is still recognizable as such, the hill is considered "torn down".

A re-establishment is not possible because the landing zone is cut through by a dirt road. Trees were planted in the run. As with many small sports facilities, ownership of the infrastructure was not clear.
