Adalbert Resetar

Adalbert Resetar (born March 16, 1950 in Schachendorf ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. Resetar was a member of the Burgenland State Parliament from 1996 to 2004 and was Mayor of Schachendorf and Vice President of the Burgenland Chamber of Agriculture.

Life

Resetar was born as the son of the farmer Stefan Resetar from Schachendorf and grew up speaking Burgenland-Croatian as his mother tongue . After primary school in Schachendorf, he attended secondary school in Rechnitz and subsequently learned the trade of toolmaker and mold maker. After Resetar had worked in his learned profession for some time, he became a foreman for mechanical engineering and part-time farmer until he finally became a full-time farmer in 1975.

From 1987 Resetar was a local councilor in Schachendorf and in 1990 became mayor of the community. At the end of his term of office on October 1, 2017, he resigned from his position as mayor. In addition, from 1992 he was ÖVP farmers 'union chairman in the Oberwart district and from 1995 regional chairman in the farmers' union. In 1990 he also took over the position of second president of the Burgenland Chamber of Agriculture and represented the ÖVP in the Burgenland State Parliament from June 27, 1996 to May 26, 2004. Resetar resigned one day before the swearing-in of his wife Michaela Resetar as the provincial government of Burgenland from the parliament.

Resetar has two children with his wife.
