The Burgenländische Volkszeitung (BVZ) is an Austrian weekly newspaper for the federal state of Burgenland , since 2005 based in Sankt Pölten . Like the Niederösterreichische Nachrichten published by the same publisher, it appears in several district editions . There are six different editions for the districts of Eisenstadt , Güssing / Jennersdorf , Mattersburg , Neusiedl am See , Oberpullendorf and Oberwart . It has 127,000 readers.

The publisher is the Press Association of the Diocese of St. Pölten . In 2017, Gudula Walterskirchen succeeded Prelate Franz Stepwieser as chairwoman of the press association and thus publisher.
