Adalhard (Count Palatine)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Adalhard (* around 830 ; † after October 10, 890 ) is attested in 877 as a West Frankish Count Palatine and later (882–890) as Count of Paris . He was the son of Count Wulfhard I and Susanna of Paris. Since Susanna was the daughter of Count Beggo I of Paris and the Alpheidis, the illegitimate daughter of Emperor Ludwig the Pious , Adalhard is his great-grandson.

Adalhard's daughter Adelheid (* 850, † 18 November 901) married King Ludwig the Stammler (* 846, † 879) around 875 and became the mother of the later West Franconian King Charles the Simple .

Adalhard's son was the abbot Wulfhard von Flavigny (* 855, † 880/893).
