Autograph report by Adam Molau about an organ repair in Wormstedt (1796)

Adam Molau was a German organ builder who had his workshop in Mannstedt in the second half of the 18th century . He is possibly the son of Johann Georg Molau (born August 6, 1703 in Großhelmsdorf ; † November 26, 1773) from Großhelmsdorf.

The following commissioned works are known from the organ builder Adam Molau:

  • 1755 Completion of the organ in the church in Kreypau , the construction of which had been started by Johann Christoph Mocker
  • 1755/1756 Partly new construction or repair work on the organ in St. Georg in Wormstedt in Thuringia .
  • 1784 Plot to repair the damaged organ in the church in Kreypau, but the order was received by the organ builder Johann Gottfried Krug
  • The new building in Großhelmsdorf (I / 8) attributed to Molau in 1785 probably goes back to Christoph Dünger .
  • 1786 new building in Mannstedt (II / P / 22)
  • 1796 repairs to the organ in Wormstedt

An organ builder named Adam Molau from Ansbach is possibly identical to him. A family relationship to the organ builder family Molau in Großbrembach has not yet been proven.
