Adams Prize
The Adams Prize (Engl. Adams Prize ) is the annual Cambridge University and St John's College at Cambridge University for outstanding mathematical achievements to one or more young (usually under the age of 40 years), living in the United Kingdom (UK based) mathematician awarded. The prize used to be an award for mathematicians and theoretical physicists at Cambridge University who submitted an essay for it (Adams Prize Essay) . The Adams Prize was founded in 1848 to commemorate John Couch Adams' contribution to the discovery of Neptune . The prize is endowed with around £ 15,000 (as of 2015), a third of which goes to the institution where the mathematician is employed.
