ADDINOL ("additive in oil") was the GDR's best-known brand for mineral oil products . ADDINOL Lube Oil GmbH has been a brand owner and independent company in the German mineral oil industry since 1996 . The company produces automotive and industrial lubricants and is represented in over 90 countries worldwide.

history

The production location was the Lützkendorf mineral oil plant near Leuna until 2000 , which was originally commissioned by Wintershall, commissioned by the "Mitteldeutsche Treibstoff- und Oelwerke AG Kassel" and built from October 26, 1936. During the Second World War, the chemical site came under attack by the Allies and was badly damaged. The buildings were largely renovated after the end of the war and the location was retained.

On July 1, 1948, the company was incorporated into the " Association of People's Own Enterprises (VVB) Kohlenwertstoffe". In 1951 the production capacity was 65,000 t and by 1964 after the expansion of the production facilities, the capacity increased to 250,000 t of lubricants per year and thus covered the majority of the lubricant requirements of the GDR. At that time, the plant had around 3,600 employees and was the largest lubricating oil manufacturer in the GDR. In 1989 the plant produced 800,000 t of mineral oil products annually, of which around 300,000 t were lubricants, and had around 3800 employees. The reunification presented the company with great challenges, as it was not prepared for the transition from a planned to a market economy. A reorganization of the operational structure and radical staff cuts were the only means to keep the company profitable.

On April 30, 1990, the Lützkendorf mineral oil works in the VEB Hydrogenation Works Zeitz was separated from the Zeitz combine operation and assigned directly to the PCK Schwedt as an independent combine operation. On July 1, 1990, the company was separated from the PCK Schwedt and on June 9, 1990, ADDINOL Mineralöl GmbH Lützkendorf was founded, which in 1998 was merged into ADDINOL Lube Oil GmbH . After the dismantling of the Lützkendorf mineral oil plant began in 1996, the headquarters, sales, research and production were relocated from Krumpa to the Leunawerke in August 2000 . Production capacities and tank farms were continuously expanded until 2009, and in 2007 our own logistics center was opened. In 2016, the site expansion in Leuna started with an extension to the administration building. This project was completed in 2017. The extension enabled ADDINOL Lube Oil GmbH to use new offices, consulting rooms and a conference floor in order to take into account the positive economic development.
