Adeodato López

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Adeodato López (born February 1, 1906 , † unknown) was a Mexican football player on the position of a striker .

Life

In 1923 López was one of seven players who played all six games of the Mexican national team against Guatemala, Mexico's only international opponent at the time. With six goals, he was not only the most successful goalscorer in these matches, but also the only Mexican who managed a "double" (twice).

At that time, López was, like all the players of the three matches played in January 1923 with the southern neighbor, under contract with Club America . In 1924, of all places, he left the Americanistas and did not experience their heyday when the team won the championship of the capital league four times in a row between 1925 and 1928 .

López later moved to FV Germania , founded by the German colony in Mexico City , with which he was demonstrably under contract in 1928 when he was one of four remaining players in the 1923 national team who were in the Mexicans' Olympic squad . There López played Mexico's second (and last) game against Chile, which was lost 3-1.
